First thing's first: Alien Day has been officially declared. It is April 26, in honor of the fictional exomoon LV426 from the movie "Alien," where the crew members of the USCSS Nostromo first encountered the ill-fated Xenomorph eggs.

As part of the celebrations, which will no doubt involve some cosplay events and all-day Alien movie marathons, Reebok is releasing replicas of the high-top Stompers Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) wore in Aliens. Reebok is also bringing back the mid-top versions worn by the android Bishop (Lance Henriksen).

The mid-tops were made available in the past, but this is the first time the high-tops will be for sale.

The Stompers are coming to market on the heels of Nike's recent release of the self-lacing sneakers inspired by those worn by Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) in "Back to the Future II."

The Stompers will be available for $174.99.

Fun fact: Reebok made the Stompers specifically for the film and a limited number of them were put on sale about a year after the movie's release.
