Peter Tuthill

Peter Tuthill is a research astrophysicist in the department of physics at the University of Sydney, Australia and an expert contributor to The Conversation. His research interests have their origins in high-angular resolution imaging in astronomy and he has led a number of projects to explore novel optical techniques for recovering images of celestial objects with extremely fine detail. Peter's photo above shows him mounting a mask plate inside the prime focus cage of the 10 -meter Keck Telescope in Hawaii for an imaging experiment. In addition to working with telescopes in Hawaii, Chile and California, Peter also works with the SUSI interferometer at Narrabri, Australia.
